Concert Tickets - Buying Them Online Saves Money

Twenty years ago, concert tickets represented economical entertainment. Yes, prices have risen for everything traditionally two decades, however the costs of concert tickets have risen considerably faster than the rate of inflation. Tickets that once cost $10-$15 now routinely retail for ten times as much or more if the concert is by a major artist. For several artists, the very best ticket price for premium seats may be $500 or more!
Why have concert tickets become so pricey? Here a few reasons:
Concerts are now a main source of revenue. Record companies and artists once considered concerts as "loss leaders." It might cost millions for an artist to tour, but the ticket prices were kept to an budget friendly minimum. The company might lose cash on the tour, but earn money overall when those concert goers went to their record store the next day to buy the newest album from the artist they just saw. With sales of music decreasing in the past 10 years, both the artist and the record company are now seeing concert tours as a principal generator of sales, both from tickets and from sales of supplementary merchandise including tour programs and T-shirts.
Scalpers have driven up prices. The laws of supply and demand have usually affected concert ticket prices. Tickets to sold out concerts have generally been sold in a secondary marketplace for more than the face value of the ticket, and in several cases, scalpers were receiving hundreds of dollars for tickets that might have had a face value of less than $20. The artists and record corporations saw this taking place and thought, "If people are going to pay $200 for a ticket, why aren't they getting them from us?" Now the artists themselves charge premium prices, particularly for the ideal seats. Needless to say, scalpers still charge a premium for soldout shows, but ultimately, there is a limit to how much the general public is willing to spend.
Service charges have gone up. In the 1970's a common service charge for a ticket may have been 25 or 50 cents. Now it isn't unusual for the ticket companies to include on a service charge of $10 or more for tickets to popular events. Selling tickets has become a multibillion dollar industry, and all relevant parties now want their portion of the earnings.
How can members of the public get good prices on concert tickets? The best advice is to be persistent. You can buy tickets to sold-out shows on Craigslist, or eBay, or from any one of a number of ticket brokers on the internet. Purchasing from Craigslist or eBay sellers can be dangerous, as you may not be able to determine if the tickets are genuine or phony or if the seller really has them in their possession. On the other hand, online brokers might charge a premium for tickets. The tradeoff in buying from an online broker is that they have huge inventories, giving you access to a large number of concerts on several dates at several venues. In addition, you know that the tickets you wish to buy are literally available and that you can purchase them securely with your credit card without risking losing your money.
Buying concert tickets is not as affordable as it once was, but thanks to online ticket brokers, it's fast and easy. You don't have to stand in line in the cold any longer.
Two great places to buy sports, concert, Vegas or Broadway tickets online are DiscountTicketsStore.com and OnlineTicketsShop.net. Both sites provide a fast, effective search system that makes it effortless to find great theater tickets in seconds. Both sites are also secure and safe.

Different Entry Formats For Contests And Sweepstakes

There are thousands of contests and sweepstakes on the Internet and many of these are free to enter. The concern of having one's personal information all over the place becomes less of an issue if a separate email box is created to handle the entries. Aside from that, there really are no drawbacks to entering sweepstakes and contests offered by recognizable sources.
Entry methods differ and may be as restrictive as one entry per person or as loose as unlimited entries. In between these extremes are contests and sweepstakes that permit one entry per day, per week, or per month. These are best participated in by setting up a personal reminder that alerts the entrant when the next entry is due to be submitted.
The ideal way to participate is to find free sweepstakes and contests that allow an unlimited number of entries. Then, get started submitting the entries and be eligible to win prizes that include gift cards, popular products, and even vacations. Each contest has specific rules so read these carefully prior to entering, to ensure that all the guidelines are followed.
Whenever submitting an entry, be aware of anything being committed to because this can make one's participation less attractive. For example, if it is free to enter the contest but requires that the person respond to an hour-long survey on numerous products or services, it may not be worth the effort. The rules will explain this information, so again, read carefully.
Whether choosing to enter contests and sweepstakes that allow one entry per person, per certain time period, or an unlimited number of entries, have fun with the experience. Enter only the contests with appealing prizes because it may be difficult to transfer them if they are unwanted. Always read the fine print and proceed with caution when entering contests offered by unfamiliar entities.

A Special Tip for a Good American Accent for Actors

For the past 11 years of teaching the American Dialect in Australia, what really caught my attention as a big mistake most people make across the board, is that they mean to give the accent a particular 'voice'.
Most of them come to think that American accent is something that requires a nasal twang to it, something which is very bright and chirpy. Something similar to accent of Desperate Housewives or Tom Cruise and the like. Versions of that accent apparently exist but it is a bit hasty to think that is the extent of the American accent.
It is a natural train of thought - we think of an accent and we fit it with a tonal quality, a particular register in pitch and a character. I'm even guilty of it myself. When I do an English accent my mind automatically pulls up a throaty, deep smooth sound.
Why this can become a real issue? Simply because it is not authentic to you. And not only is it not authentic, you are now also not capable to sort out your character with a clean slate. You have already pigeon-holed it. But you can always try approaching your character in its wholeness and don't give the accent the character before you've even started. If after doing some work on your character, you find out that the character DOES need a twangy, nasal American accent then that's a go-signal for you. Go for it. But you know that you came to it from a rounded point of view.
On the other hand, if you find yourself on set working with a new accent, here are few tips you should definitely consider:
1.Tongue and Lips Exercise. You should roll your tongue and lips in between each take to help keep those muscles relaxed because once they start to fatigue- and they will- it's hard to get them back.
2. Know what to look for in yourself.are the sounds becoming more difficult to navigate in the mouth? Is your tongue getting thick? Are you stumbling over sounds that were easy earlier on? These signs means you are worn out. It is advised you take a 5-minute break, if it's possible, and take in something that will bring your blood sugar back up.
But if you don't, you'll continue having the endless takes because your accent isn't that solid. As your exhaustion continues, your accent will most likely continue to decrease in quality. So without a recharge or even the awareness that you need one, you're essentially shooting yourself in the foot.
Now, the next topic will tackle about using the right tone depending on WHO your audience will be, which is dependent on what 'version' of the accent you use. The natural and not forced sounds is one approach in teaching that I prefer but that may not read well to some audiences. There are a number of audiences (ironically not American) that may think that the actor's accent is appalling, barely noticeable at all.
And if you're one actor that is working for an American audience, however, it'd be just fine. Like you, your audience may have a pre-conceived notion of what the accent should sound like. So, know your audience and the expectations they have from your accent.

Learning To Play Guitar - Your Quick Guide For The Electric Guitars

Playing the electric guitar is a lot different from playing an acoustic one. Ideally, you should already know how to play acoustic guitars before you move to electric guitars because most of the time, you only use an electric guitar if you want to learn how to play the lead part.
This will be difficult if you do not have any idea what a fret is or how to read notes. In any case, learning to play guitar, even the electric ones, should not be as hard as you think. All it takes are patience and determination.
This guitar was first used in jazz music in the 1930s and was first called the Rickenbacker, named after the last name of the man who made it. These guitars work by converting the string vibrations into an electric current. This current is then converted into a sound by an amplifier. There is no electric type of guitar that can play without an amplifier.
Some of these guitars have seven strings. Some even have 12 strings. Depending on your level of expertise, you can choose between these models. Most lead guitarists use the ordinary guitar with six strings. However, heavy music genres use a 12-stringed guitar.
As mentioned earlier, this guitar depends on an amplifier. This means you should buy not only the guitar but also the amps. Below is a list of what you need to complete your guitar accessories.
Amplifier - this has to be about 10-15 watts. This amplifier with this kind of power is only used for practicing but not for performing.
Guitar strap - the electric guitar is heavy and you can't play it while standing without a strap. Buy a sturdy guitar strap and do not be lured by the designs. Buy something useful, not beautiful.
A cable wire - use this to connect the guitar to your amplifier.
Guitar pick - the electric guitar is not as easily played as its acoustic counterpart. Your fingers will hurt if you do not use picks.
One of the electric guitar lessons we recommend to you is tuning. Learning to play guitar is quite difficult if you do not know how to tune your own instrument. Tuning this guitar takes more skill than tuning an acoustic one because of the amplifier's role in the sound.
The amplifier can distort your hearing sensibilities so the best step is to use a tuner. An electronic tuner does not cost more than 20 bucks. It is difficult for beginners to find their own pitch and an electronic tuner is a necessity when learning how to play guitar, especially electric guitars.
Lastly, you need to play songs that you like. It is very sad to play songs that do not interest you. In fact, you are more likely to learn faster and become more motivated if you are trying to play songs that you love. If the chords are very difficult, find some songs that have no more than six chords.
Work your way up to the more difficult ones slowly and we guarantee you, you will be singing your way towards your guitar career. Check out our amazing Electric Guitar Lessons. Feel the excitement of learning new skill and playing your first song.

Rockabilly Music: That Unlikely Mixture of Musical Styles Changed the Face of Pop Music

Rockabilly music is musical whapatooli. Websters.com doesn't recognize the word, but anyone who was ever a teenager probably has a pretty good handle on what it means. The website whapatooli.com defines it as, "1) A punch-like alcoholic beverage whose ingredients include beer, rum, vodka, Kool Aid®, 7-Up®, ginger ale, and chunks of fruit. 2) A confused mixture of loosely related items." It's definition #1 that most of us probably remember from those college parties (or maybe not!), but #2 is the one that fits rockabilly music. Or does it?
Rockabilly is certainly a mixture of loosely-related items. A healthy dose of country music, a bunch of blues, a handful of gospel, and a heaping portion of rhythm and Blues, all topped off with a pinch of jazz for flavoring. But I wouldn't really call the music a "confused" mixture of these ingredients.
Rockabilly music has a very logical structure to it. Like other forms of popular music such as country, blues, folk, and so on, it's pretty easy to identify the sections of a rockabilly tune. But perhaps the music does seem confused to some people. It's certainly manic and energetic. And I guess if you really analyzed it, you'd have to agree that any thinking person would doubt that you could get away with throwing hardcore country licks over no-nonsense blues sensibility and come up with a completely new genre of music. Sure, maybe it'd work for a song or two here and there--sort of as a novelty--but you couldn't sustain a complete movement. And certainly not one that would change the world of pop music forever!
But that's exactly what happened. There were the blues and there was country music and there was even country blues. But none of it was rockabilly. Not at first. Not until it evolved and grew and the world was finally ready for rockabilly! And when rockabilly finally arrived, it didn't come knocking politely at pop's door. It exploded onto the scene! It crashed through radio speakers and new TV screens in the form of a hip-shaking, golden-voiced kid named Elvis. And the explosion sparked countless fires all over the world. Soon the whole planet was ablaze with rockabilly. Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, Gene Vincent, Johnny Burnette...and those are just ones "everybody" talks about. Countless other even more obscure rockabilly artists added fuel to the fire.
And the fire still rages today. It seems like there are more true rockabilly acts on stage now then there has been since those early days. Rockabilly festivals take place all year round and all over the world as fans reestablish a bond with this musical whapatooli that just never quits. And rockabilly bands keep finding new ways to combine the varied ingredients that make up the volatile mixture. Along with millions of other fans of the music, all I can say is, "Gimme more!"

Perfect Wedding Bands and Music - Make the Right Choice

Wedding bands/music is like the icing on the cake; it can help to set the mood for the entire event. Hence planning for wedding music and songs can get to be a little daunting especially if you do not know how to go about it. Here are a few tips and pointers that can get you started in the right direction.
The first and most important thing is to decide what kinds of songs and music that you want to be played on your big day. There are so many options to choose from like traditional wedding bands/music, contemporary, light-hearted, religious, eclectic or somber. You can also choose music pertaining to a specific culture or according to the theme of your wedding if any. Once you have decided the framework, consider half the job done. It is best to sit down with your partner and make the selection rather than do it all by yourself; if you have hired a wedding planner, then make sure that she is also a part of your discussions as the music must reflect the overall mood of the wedding.
You can also mix and match the style of music; some people prefer somber and religious music for the ceremony but fun and sassier dance numbers for the reception to get the guest grooving. Another important tip is to choose wedding bands/music that reflects both of your personalities. Do not blindly follow any trend; instead select pieces that is meaningful to your relationship. You can also play one or two special songs that have touched you during your courtship; it is a wonderful feeling to play some heady love ballads for your first dance during the reception.
Dedicating a special song to a friend or a family member is a great way to say thanks to that person. It is also important that you keep the tastes of your guests in mind while choosing music especially for the cocktail party or reception. Get wedding bands/music that will appeal to both the younger and older generation and will keep all of them on the toes. It is quite easy to hire a wedding band or DJ these days; you just need to go online and search the top ranking ones. Another easy way is to ask for recommendations to your wedding planner or friends and relatives.
If you are hiring a live band, then make a choice of the instruments that you would like for the wedding music. Some people prefer soft and light piano music while others prefer more specific ones like saxophone, string quartet or a folk group. You can discuss the type of music that you prefer with the band master and also inform him of the special requests. Give adequate time to the band especially if you need many special numbers as they have to procure the music and practice it before the event. But if you are going in for a DJ, the work gets done faster as everything is electronic.

Ready To Hit the Beach?

What could be better than lying back lounges and wiling away the day reading a book or simply do nothing at all? This will be very objective when it comes to summer, but why not, especially if you spend a lot of work for many years in the job.

What do you think as a psychic can not catch up with what they feel physically. If you do not feel comfortable with bears bikini, for example, now is the time to do something about it. It may be several months before your holiday actually arrives, so why not seize this time to get the body you really want to mention on the beach?
A good way to achieve your goal is to get that bikini and try it in the privacy of your home. Take a good look at themselves and decide what parts of myself unhappy. Of course, none of us are not always fully satisfied with the way they look, but some changes may be easier than others.

For some people just buy new and better bikini may be all you need to feel good on the beach. For other, more effective approach to food we eat every day, perhaps what is needed. Can not even think about eating such small changes, such as reducing sugar in my tea and eat cookies at least - or similar products - you can do the job for several months.
Consider performance, too - it provides a great way to tone muscles and feel more confident, no matter what you wear. In fact, swimming is often one of the best options, especially if it is likely to do while on vacation.

Of course, for some, changes that make a big difference in their confidence was not possible with anything, but changes in diet and exercise regime. For example, if you have a very flat chest, can not have confidence to wear bikinis in the first place. In this case, may decide to opt for breast enlargement surgery to improve your vision for a more permanent basis.
But whatever you decide to help you get in shape for the beach, start planning as soon as possible to ensure that you can wear bikinis, that perfect feeling when I finally take a trip.
